A New School Year Begins

Michael and Amber straightening the desks in Grade 1 in preparation for school starting tomorrow

What do you think of when you think of a classroom ready for a new school year?  Clean desks, shiny floor, bright bulletin boards?   How about dingy metal walls with holes, weeds growing through the carpet mats on the dirt floor, broken desks?  This is what the classrooms at Aurora look like. But Aurora has much more than that—a wonderful, underpaid staff that loves children and desires to see these children that come from such hopeless circumstances have hope for a brighter future.  These kids have a much better chance at Aurora—the alternative would be a city school where they may be in a class with 100 other children.  At Aurora they are able to live there all week long, be educated and fed well, be loved and taught about the Lord.  We feel privileged to spend this month with them.  We have seen their pictures, worked on and prayed over their files, and tomorrow we will meet them!

  1. Looking Good! We had a good day at school ourselves today. We prayed for you all, and we are glad that things are coming together.
