Last minute Fly in the Ointment

We awoke today, ready to travel, and were met with a call from the travel agent that Delta was trying to contact us. Our flight from Washington had to be changed! Something happened, and we had to do the last-minute flight scramble to reschedule our route. Now we're leaving at 10 instead of 6 PM, and we not only get to go through Amsterdam (a 6-hour layover) but we also can get to see Paris (for 4 hours.) At long last, we will arrive in Joburg on Saturday, a mere 12 hours behind schedule. I am interested to see what kind of neat things we'll experience now as a result of the change.

We still went to church at 12:15 for our send-off, and it was wonderful. Then, home again for a quick lunch and final packing, and we'll be off to the airport at 4 PM. One nice thing about the delay is that we'll be on the plane during the overnight hours, which means we may get some sleep during normal sleeping time, and be bright and bushy-tailed when we arrive in Amsterdam at 5:45 AM. Well, it's always good to look on the bright side!

Here we go!
