Sew, a Needle Pulling Thread...

This week Rachael and I were able to teach simple sewing to the Grade 4 class from 1:30 to 2:30, Tuesday through Thursday. The sewing kits were assembled and donated by the American Heritage Girls group at our church. I was amazed how quickly the kids caught on! We had them making little "pockets", and once they had mastered the basic steps, their creativity took off! By the third day, we had students sewing little handles and patchwork decorations on their pockets, and a few made doll hats and finger puppets. They loved the activity so much that they kept bugging their teacher during other times in the day to let them work on their projects.

Here are a few of their pictures:

  1. Had so much fun reading your last 4 or 5 posts with Daniel and looking at the pictures. Seeing the children there enjoying you all and learning so many practical things like gardening, sewing and God's word is really an answer to our prayers!
    Thanks for sharing.
    Great dancing Cindy!!
