The purpose of this blog is to track the progress of our trip preparations and update our supporters on fund-raising efforts, challenges that our team is facing, prayer requests and ways in which we see God moving as He prepares to send us out to do His work.

Pictures from the decontruction trip to Aurora, Feb 2011
One entrance to the school
In a classroom
The "cafeteria" where kids line up for "pup" (on the right) and a stew/soup of meat and beans (on the left)
Yesterday someone asked if we would be eating at the cafeteria with the kids. I had to chuckle--the "cafeteria" is a table under the trees where the kids line up to get scoops of "pup" which is a thick corn-based dish like cream of wheat, and some vegetable/meat soup or stew. Check out the 6th picture down to see the "cafeteria."
The last pic in this series is inside the new girls' dormitory that our church funded through a big love offering Christmas of 2010. What an improvement over the old, smaller mobile unit, in which every bed was shared by multiple girls.
